Data Steward (Part-TIme)

The Tennessee Titans are seeking a motivated, data-minded individual looking to start their career in our Strategy and Analytics department. The ideal candidate will have technical skills, the ability to analyze large data sets and effectively communicate findings. Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering, this role will focus on ensuring data cleanliness, building reports, performing data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and conducting statistical modeling.  This is a part-time, year-long position beginning on or around September 23, 2024 and will average 29 hours per week. This hourly position is designed to provide hands-on experience in data strategy and analytics within a professional sports organization.Responsibilities:* Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and reliability

• Upload data to the central data warehouse
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines
• Build and maintain reports to provide actionable insights
• Conduct statistical modeling to support data-driven decision-making
• Contribute to organizational reporting and analytics initiatives
• Handle ad hoc data requests as needed
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:* High School Diploma required. Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Sports Management, or a related field

• Graduate degree is a plus
• Experience in data extraction & transformation, relational databases, and SQL
• Interest in and knowledge of data analytics and its applications within an organization
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor and present key messages to the appropriate audience(s)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel
• Familiarity and experience with BI/visual analytics tools such as Tableau or Power Bi
• Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
